PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily detect and display a desired medical image from a plurality of medical image storing servers connected to a network. SOLUTION: An integrated management server 30 detects the first retrieval information on a patient ID, the name of the patient, the date of photographing, the kind of photographic modality, etc., regularly at prescribed time intervals concerning medical images stored in DICOM servers 22a to 22c. It is judged whether the detected first retrieval information exists in the second retrieval information registered already. When it never exists, the first retrieval information is added with information on an ID number, etc., concerning the DICOM servers and registered newly to a database 33. In the case of displaying the desired medical image, which DICOM server on the network the medical image is stored in can instantly be recognized and displayed by referring to this second retrieval information. |
