<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten handoff time among traffic channels in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: A portion of a traffic channel message is detected and decoded, to determine if a fast handover procedure can be used. A first FACCH(fast associated control channel) slot being a first portion of the traffic channel includes information data and CRC data. The CRC data are decoded (415), and if the CRC determines that the message is valid (420), the mobile station proceeds directly to handover (445).</p> |
