PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access device by which the possibility of video relinquishment in the case that a fault part is present in a management file is lowered as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the case of recognizing that the fault part is present in a loaded DVD-RAM, a DVD-RAM recorder specifies the location of a table where the fault part is present. In the case that a reproduction advance system table used for the reproduction advance of VOB such as an M-AVFI table - an ORG- PGCI table is the fault part, the DVD-RAM is treated as an incorrect disk. In the case that a user editing system table described by the editing operation of a user such as UD-PGCI, TXTDT-MG and MNFI tables is the fault part, the management file is opened as a write protect file for which write is inhibited. Thereafter, the DVD-RAM recorder reads and reproduces the VOB while referring to the opened management file.
