PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for remote control for making the external appearance of a display panel in a non-display state of information desirable and displays required information, depending on the operating state of a remote control switch. SOLUTION: A display section 31 is configured by layering a half mirror 32, an information display liquid crystal display panel 34 and a lighting switching light source 36 in this order, the lighting switching light source 36 lights up the information display liquid crystal display panel 34 to make a user view liquid crystal indication on the half mirror 32, so that the display panel of the half mirror 32 can be used for a mirror surface by turning off the lighting by the lighting switching light source 36 in a non-display state, when an operating state and a setting state are not displayed. As a result, the display panel, when no information is displayed, is made to have a desirable external appearance and the display face can be used for the mirror surface.
