PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can accurately and economically confirm whether each meter in a user's home has correctly set parameters, when a central supervisory center instructs each meter to set the parameter. SOLUTION: A central supervisory center 1 and a user's home 2 are interconnected by a telephone line 3. A CPU 11 for controlling the system and a modem 12 for communication with the user's home 2 are placed to the central supervisory center 1, and a communication unit 20 for making communications with the central supervisory center 1 and a gas sensor 22 are installed inside the user's home 2 and a gas meter 23 is placed outside the center 1, and the central supervisory center 1 sets various parameters to the communication unit 20.
