PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a solenoid easily applicable to various kinds of testing devices by causing the solenoid to surely generate vibrations of all magnitudes of frequencies. SOLUTION: This solenoid 20 is constituted of an actuating rod 22 slidably supported in a housing 21, a magnet 24 fitted to the rod 22, and movable electromagnets 23 provided at both end sections of the housing 21. The solenoid 20 is also provided with nut members 33 having internal thread sections 32 at both end sections of the housing 21. The electromagnets 23 have external thread sections 31 which can be screwed in the internal thread sections 32 of the nut members 33. The intervals between the electromagnets 23 and the magnet 24 fitted to the actuating rod 22 are adjusted by adjusting the screwing amounts of the external thread sections 31 of the electromagnets 23 in the internal thread sections 32 of the nut members 33.
