PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate the arrangement of a reproducing unit and the constitution of respective parts more suitable for a vertical installation type layout, to perform miniaturization and to improve operability at the time of attaching and detaching a disk or the like in a vertical installation type disk reproducing device. SOLUTION: This device is arranged such that the moving direction of the optical pickup 32 of the reproducing unit 3 is along a radial direction obliquely upwards or obliquely downwards from the center part of the disk and the horizontal width of a disk attaching surface Z is reduced. Also, influence on posture keeping by the gravity of the reproducing unit 3 in the vertical installation type layout is reduced by receiving vibration in a vertical direction by a pressing means 8. Also, by a falling prevention means 23 and a recessed part 22 provided on the disk attaching surface Z, the disk is easily attached and detached and the disk which is about to slide down is received.
