PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration for directly specifying a photographing image place based on two pieces of information, i.e., position information and image information in the case of photographing. SOLUTION: The database of images from the whole angles of the whole country is constructed, the database and image information are respectively referred to and, then, the name of the place is specified. Since the amount of image information of each place in the whole country are large, whereby burden to a computer and long arithmetic time is required, position information is combined with image information so as to attain easy reference. Besides, the featured values of the images are extracted and reference is performed by the featured values so that a transmission data amount and a retrieval time are reduced.
