PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt fixing device which prevents the occurrence of a dent of silicone rubber of a fixing belt which has been the cause of the deterioration of a fixed image, by making the bending rate of the fixing belt near the outlet of a nip smaller when not in use and has excellent fixing quality. SOLUTION: In ordinary fixing operation, the position of an eccentric roller 93 exists in a position shown by (a) and a pressurizing roller 62 bites a fixing roller 63 and therefore the fixing nip is possible and the fixing operation is possible. During standing by as against the above, the eccentric roller 93 revolves up to the position shown by (b), which the pressurizing roller 62 is parted from the fixing belt 61 and the fixing roller 63. The bending rate of the fixing belt near the outlet of the nip when the fixing device is not used is made smaller and the occurrence of a dent of silicone rubber of the fixing belt can be prevented.
