The hairdressing chemicals to change the structure of the hair, e.g. by permanent waves or coloring, are applied to the hair as a foam and contain dyes or pigments to give the stylist a visual indication of the action of the treatment on the hair. The addition of 0.1-20.0% of a thickening agent to the processing chemical foam formula identifies the application point at the hair for a time span of 1-60 mins.
