In a control system suitable for the control surfaces of an aircraft, rocket or ship, an input pressure signal 2 is fed to bellows 12, 13 and compared by lever 15 with an input pressure signal 3 fed to bellows 11, 14. Any error is applied by spring arm 5 as a torque to rod 21 to deflect a jet tube 27 to position a relay spool 38 controlling servomotor 4. A spring 42 provides feedback to the jet tube from the spool, and a feedback torque to rod 21 from servopiston 45 is transmitted via arm 51 ball-nosed plunger 54 and spring arm 58. Permanent magnets 43 co-operate with armature 42 to provide a negative spring rate which compensates for the total positive spring rate.</p> |
