PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system for generating power with high efficiency by keeping a water content in fuel battery in optimal conditions for suppressing the fluctuations in the output voltage between cells, constituting the fuel battery. SOLUTION: A near cell voltage Vn and a far cell voltage Vf of at least a cell 10a near a gas supply port 10f and a cell 10e farthest from the gas supply port 10f, respectively, from among a plurality of cells 10a-10e constituting the fuel battery 10, are detected. If the far cell voltage Vf is higher than the near cell voltage Vn, humidity in the fuel battery 10 is made lower, and if the near cell voltage Vn is higher than the far cell voltage Vf, the humidity in the fuel battery 10 is made higher. Humidity control in the fuel battery is carried out, by either the temperature control of humidified hydrogen an humidified oxygen to be supplied to the fuel battery 10 or the temperature control of the body of the fuel battery 10, or by both. |
