PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that always obtains a fixed image having satisfactory quality by increasing the outer diameter of a pressure roller, i.e., on the side where the temperature of a fixing roller drops. SOLUTION: An unfixed toner image is heat-fused and fixed to transfer paper in a nip part formed between the fixing roller incorporating a heater and the pressure roller turnably pressed against the fixing roller. The fixing unit has a means for detecting a surface temperature of the fixing roller and a means for controlling the turning on/off of the heater. In the image forming device, the fixing unit and a cooling channel for fixing heat are disposed in the axial direction of the fixing roller, the outer diameter of the pressure roller is designed such that the cooling channel inlet side is greater than the cooling channel outlet side. |
