PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a fingerprint image input device small and inexpensive and to attain low power consumption in the device by preventing the device from becoming thick and light utilization efficiency from dropping even though the device is provided with a display function. SOLUTION: TFTs(thin film transistor), light emitting elements 1 connected to the TFTs and signal detection electrodes 28 are regularly and systematically arranged on a transparent substrate 11, and the surface of the substrate 11 is covered with a protective layer. A light emitting element 1 emits light toward the substrate 11 and displays an image, and a signal detection electrode 28 detects capacitance between a finger and the electrode 28 itself. A drive circuit 2 for display, a detection circuit 3 for display/image input and a detection circuit 4 for image input are arranged around the substrate. Gate lines 18 and data lines 23 are formed so as to section the light emitting elements 1 and the electrodes 28. Besides, a GND line and a power supply line also used as a signal generation electrode are formed. A high frequency signal is generated from the power supply line also used as signal generation electrode in a fingerprint image input mode. |
