PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile mail device capable of reducing power consumption in the case of standby of the facsimile mail device and performing efficient power saving control corresponding to both of starting signals from a facsimile part and a mail transmitting/receiving part by providing a LAN adaptor itself with an energy saving function. SOLUTION: In the case of the standby, a control part 123 of the LAN adaptor 120 is set in a standby mode, only a part of a LAN controller 122 is set as an energized state and when the control part 123 receives a starting signal from the facsimile part 110 or LAN, the control part 123 is transferred from the standby mode to a normal operation mode. Thus, the LAN adaptor 120 itself is provided with the energy saving function as securing a function to respond to an incoming call from the LAN.
