PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can maintain a satisfactory image quality free from fixing failure, etc., even in a low temperature environment. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a fixing device is provided with which has a fixing roller incorporating a heater, a pressure roller freely turnably pressed against the fixing roller, a temperature detection means for detecting surface temperature of the fixing roller, and a control means for controlling the turning on/off of the heater according to a detection value obtained by the temperature detection means, and fuses and fixes an unfixed toner image to transfer paper in a nip part formed by pressure contact of the fixing roller and pressure roller. In the image forming device, a room temperature detection device, which detects a room temperature, i.e., ambient temperature outside the image forming device, is disposed outside a structure composing the image forming device, inside an outer cover, and near a suction portion through which outside air is freely sucked into a device main body.
