PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punch and a metal mold unit which punch a lead frame with high manufacturing efficiency without generating deformation such as twisting or bending of the leads. SOLUTION: This punch is for manufacturing a lead frame having a die pad and lead groups corresponding to respective peripheral sides of the die pad by punching a metal material by press working. The shape of the cutting edges 11 of the punch 10 is formed to be the same shape as that of the lead group. A protrusion 13 to the direction opposite to the cutting edges 11 is formed in the shank part 12 of the punch 10.
