PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic material less susceptible to a change of developing conditions. SOLUTION: The ultrahigh contrast photographic material is obtained by carrying a silver halide emulsion layer on a base and contains a combination comprising two or more hydrazide system nucleating agents in the emulsion layer and/or a hydrophilic colloidal layer. The combination comprises a nucleating agent of formula (I) and/or (II) and a nucleating agent of formula (III). The nucleating agent of the formula (I) contains (a) identical or different two nicotinamide moieties bonded by a bonding group and (b) a hydrazide moiety bonded to only one of the nicotinamide moieties. The nucleating agent of the formula (II) is a dimer molecule containing two monomers bonded by a bonding group and each of the monomers contains parts which (a) may be identical or different and (b) each contains a hydrazide moiety and a nicotinamide moiety. The nucleating agent of the formula (II) contains an aryl sulfonamidoarylhydrazide.
