PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance both the image quality of a through-image and the focus accuracy. SOLUTION: A CMOS imager 14 generates electric charges on the basis of an optical image of an object via a lens 12. A TG(Timing Generator) 14b reads electric charges from a light receiving face in a mode suitable for monitor display when a monitor mode is set. A monitor 30 displays a through-image of the object on the basis of the read electric charges. On the other hand, when an AF mode is set, the TG 14b reads the electric charges from the light receiving face in a mode suitable for focus adjustment. An MPU 38 adjusts the focus on the basis of the read electric charges. The MPU 38 selectively sets the monitor mode or the AF mode. |
