摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel motor for an electric vehicle which enables arbitrary fitting of a drive motor to a car body, regardless of the shape, construction, and characteristics of the drive motor, and enables arbitrary selection of a gear ratio of a reduction gear mechanism, without changing the drive motor. SOLUTION: The drive motor 1200 of the in-wheel motor, which constitutes a drive assembly for the electric vehicle by combining the drive motor 1200, the reduction gear mechanism 1300, a wheel bearing, and a mechanical brake, has a casing 1210 in which a rotor 1240 and a stator 1220 are housed. The gear mechanism 1300 is a planetary gear mechanism. In a housing 1411 for housing a wheel shaft 1410 to be connected to the output side of the planetary gear mechanism, the wheel bearing is fixed to the periphery of an end part. Pedestals having sticking means are fitted to the upper and lower outsides of the casing 1210, and attachments which are linked to joint mechanisms to be fixed freely movably to suspension mechanisms are fitted to the pedestals.
