PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the insertion force of a male terminal into a female terminal, without impairing the connection reliability of a connector. SOLUTION: This terminal structure for a connector has the female terminal 2, having a tongue piece-like spring contact 6 mounted in a fitting part 1, and the male terminal 4 provided with a male tab 3 inserted into the fitting part 1 of the female terminal 2 to contact the spring contact 6. The structure is so composed, that the relationship 90 deg.>δL>=90 deg.-tan-1[(3-5μ)/(5+3μ)] is established between the contact angleδL of the male tab, with respect to the spring contact 6 and the friction factorμof the contact surfaces of both the terminals 2 and 4, before the insertion force reaches a peak value when the tab 3 is inserted into the fitting part 1 of the female terminal 2 to connect both the terminals 2 and 4 with each other.
