PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the handling failure in color image data to a user in the Internet facsimile machine having a transmission protocol corresponding to only black-and-white manuscript data. SOLUTION: A CPU completes data accumulation operation into an image memory after image data are taken in by a color scanner (S21), judges that color manuscript data are present in the accumulated data (YES in S22), further recognizes that the user has set facsimile transmission and inputted a facsimile destination (YES in S23), and then displays an error message such as 'no transmission is made since a color manuscript is included' at a display section in an operation display section (S24).
