STEREO CAMERA

PURPOSE: A stereo camera is provided to obtain a flicker-free stereoscopic image by increasing output frequency of image signal through a stereo video converter, while allowing the camera to be used for both two-dimension and three-dimension. CONSTITUTION: A stereo camera comprises a stereoscopic camera module(10) having left and right lenses(101,102) and left and right image sensors(103,104) which are arranged separately from each other, and a motor for adjusting the space between lenses and image sensors, and the space between left and right image sensors; and a stereo video converter(20) for synchronizing the left and right image signals output from the stereoscopic camera module with a predetermined synchronization signal, storing the result into a memory(205), and outputting the image data stored in the memory by reading the image data at the frequency double of the frequency for writing to the memory. The stereoscopic camera module includes left and right lenses; left and right image sensors; camera signal processing units(105,106) for processing the image signals output from the image sensors; and a convergence/focus control unit(107) for simultaneously controlling the focus and convergence by moving the image sensors in a horizontal direction.
