<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component having a superior insulation property and magnetic characteristic and, in addition, a high mechanical strength and to provide a method of manufacturing the coil component. SOLUTION: After an air core coil is set in a mould, magnetic material powder coated with two kinds of resin layers is packed in the mould. It is preferable to use pure iron-based powder having a mean particle diameter of <=20μm as the magnetic material powder. Of the two kinds of resin layers coating the surface of the powder, the inner layer is formed by using a thermosetting resin and the outer layer is formed by using a thermoplastic resin. Then a rectangular molded body containing the air core coil inside is formed by press-molding the magnetic material powder with a pressure of 1-10 t/cm2. Thereafter, a magnetic member 2a is formed by heat-treating the molded body.</p> |
