PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery having long longevity and reliability with a polar pole through part structure endurable to force of elongation of a positive electrode lattice for long duration of service without sagging of a sealant due to slight positional slippage of the polar pole. SOLUTION: This lead-acid battery is furnished with a cylindrical body hanging down from a battery jar lid to pass through the polar pole, the sealant filled in the cylindrical body around the polar pole, a down-flowing sealant pan set around a lower part of the cylindrical body by being fitted on the polar pole and a down-flowing sealant filled in the down-flowing sealant pan, and at least a lower end part of the cylindrical body is buried in the down- flowing sealant.
