PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector device which eliminates the need to directly measure the temperature of a liquid crystal panel and can make a display of the optimum picture quality without any influence of temperature variation on the picture quality and a driving method for the liquid crystal projector device. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a temperature sensor 402 which detects temperatures at positions except liquid crystal panels 200, 201, and 202 in the liquid crystal projector device 100, a memory 401 which stores temperature detection data obtained from the temperature sensor 402 in stationary operation since the liquid crystal projector device 100 is powered, an arithmetic means 400 which indirectly obtain the temperatures of the liquid crystal panels 200, 201, and 202 by estimating the temperatures of the liquid crystal panels 200, 201, and 202 according to the temperature detection data stored in the memory 401, and liquid crystal drive parts 321, 322, and 323 which corrects driving voltages for driving the liquid crystal panels 200, 201, and 202 with the output signal of the arithmetic means 40 and supply them to the liquid crystal panels 200, 201, and 202.
