IMAGE READER AND IMAGE READING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input unit in which an image can be detected surely while reducing the cost. SOLUTION: A line sensor camera 11 is provided in order to pick up the image of a print material 45. A pulse generator 12 generates a pulse every time when the print material 45 is carried by a predetermined distance. Upon receiving the pulse, the line sensor camera 11 accumulates charges for a predetermined time and converts the accumulated charges into image data which is displayed on a liquid crystal display 33. Since the charges of an image picked up are stored for a predetermined time every time when the print material 45 is carried by a predetermined amount, images of constant exposure time can be detected continuously at a constant interval.
