<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video noise eliminating device that causes no deterioration in a contour part, and eliminates no delicate shadow of an object when eliminating noise superimposed mainly on a background, where no noise appears to periodically increase or decrease. SOLUTION: A variable limiter 16 detects a noise in a luminance signal depending on a threshold value decided by a horizontal luminance edge/ averaging extract circuit 11, a vertical correlation extract circuit 14, and a skin color detection circuit 15 in response to the feature of a received video signal, a variable attenuator 10 attenuates the detected noise depending on its attenuation decided similarly to above and a 1st subtractor 7 subtracts and output of the attenuator 10 from the luminance signal to eliminate the noise included in the luminance signal.</p> |
