PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element and a manufacturing method of it having superior lighting luminance, luminous efficiency, and durability and available effectively for full-color display, backlight, surface light source, such as an illumination light source, and a light source array and the like for a printer and the like. SOLUTION: This light-emitting element is constructed by arranging a transparent electrode, a light-emitting laminate, and a thermoplastic sealing member on a thermoplastic base board, and the light-emitting laminate is constructed by layering one or more organic compound layers, including a light-emitting layer and a back electrode, while by means of the thermoplastic sealing member, the organic compound layer is sealed and shut off from the outside air. The thermoplastic base board and the thermoplastic sealing member are fused together in the circumference part of the light-emitting laminate.
