PURPOSE: A method for treating cotton fibers by cationizing cotton fibers using a pretreating agent containing a cationizing agent during pretreatment of cotton fibers is provided. Whereby, the treated cotton fibers are increased in similarity between a printed cotton fiber color and a ground pattern color and high in wash fastness and dye fastness. CONSTITUTION: The pretreating agent for ink jet printing of cotton fibers and cotton fiber blended yarn or a mixture fabric is prepared by mixing 0.01 to 30% by weight of a cationizing agent as a cotton fiber pretreating agent, 1 to 5% by weight of an aqueous polymer, 1 to 20% by weight of urea, 1 to 5% by weight of alkaline material, 1 to 10% by weight of a neutral salt and 50 to 90% by weight of water. Cotton fibers are soaked in the pretreating agent and dried at 120deg.C for 3min, and the pretreated cotton fibers are printed with a reactive dye, heated at 100deg.C for 30min, washed with an anionic surfactant at 90deg.C for 20min and then dried. |
