PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which makes it easy to grasp the spatial position relation between an arbitrary section and volume data and determine a sectional position in the arbitrary section and can shorten the time needed for diagnosis when a medical image is displayed in three dimensions. SOLUTION: This image display system 100 is equipped with an image processor 1 including a CPU 10 running a program based upon image processing algorithm which fetches at least two pieces of identical or nearly identical volume data regarding three-dimensional image of an object position of a body to be examined, generates a three-dimensional image from one of the at least two pieces of the volume data and an arbitrary section image from the other(s), displaying the three-dimensional image and the arbitrary section image together on a display device 4, and displays a sectional image obtained by viewing the arbitrary section image from the front simultaneously with the three-dimensional image and arbitrary section image.
