RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE AND GROUP MANAGEMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which is capable of managing desired musical piece data together form a large amount of the musical piece data recorded to a prescribed medium. SOLUTION: When such date and hour data as shown in (a) is recorded within UTOC of an MD, a processing control section forms a group management table as shown in (b) set with track numbers by each of the same date and hour data. When the group number '3' is assigned by a user through a control section in group reproduction, the processing control section reproduces the musical piece data in order of the track numbers '5→6→7→8' by referencing the group management table.
