PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode paste, using a polymer having satisfactory integrity with an electrode powder and adhesive to a collecting material, good stability for the electrode paste and compatibility with various aqueous electrolyte and superior oxidation-reduction capability, thermal stability and acid/alkali resistance, and an electrode, as well as aqueous primary and secondary batteries, using the same and having high-capacity and high-current operability, long service life and high reliability. SOLUTION: The polymer, as a binder or a thickener used for the electrode paste, containing repeating structure unties having amide structures, particularly an N-vinyl acetamide polymer is used to obtain the electrode paste having superior integrity adhesion, compatibility with the electrolyte, stability and durability. By using the electrode formed of the paste, the aqueous primary and secondary batteries having high-capacity and high-current operability, long service life and high reliability are completed. |
