PURPOSE: A coin counter is provided, thereby the amount of coin can be rapidly and correctly counted. CONSTITUTION: The coin counter comprises a guiding means which is connected to a slot and guides a drop of a coin; a lever consisting of a first arm which is rotated by the load of a dropping coin and a second arm which is rotated according to the size of a dropping coin; an elasticity means which is connected to the lever and let the rotated lever return to the previous position; a coin size-recognizing means which outputs signals based on data produced by the rotation of the lever; and a microprocessor which determines the amount of the coin by using the signal from the signals.
