PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the follow-up ability of a magnetic head to a magnetic disk surface, to suppress vibration amplitude in the bit direction of the magnetic head and to increase the density of magnetic recording/reproduction. SOLUTION: This support structure is provided with a base plate 15, a beam spring 16 supported at the tip part of the base plate and provided so as to support the magnetic head 11 at the tip part and separate the magnetic head from a magnetic disk in a non-load state, a pivot spring 17 for pressurizing the magnetic head and bring it into elastic contact with the magnetic disk. The beam spring consists of a first spring part 22 for mainly being bent at the base end part and storing repulsive force when the tip part is deflected downwards by the pivot spring, a body part 23 having relatively high rigidity, provided successively to the first spring part and mainly keeping the rigidity of the entire beam spring and a second spring part 24 provided successively to the body part for mainly being bent so as to keep parallelism to the magnetic disk surface of a head slider and improving the follow-up ability to the magnetic disk surface. A notched part (flexible part) 27 is provided on a part in the length direction of the body part.
