<p>Corn starch is prepd. by (a) comminuting corn grains (b) macerating the comminuted grains for pref. 2-16hrs. in an aqs. soln. of SO2, (c) separating a farinaceous starch from the macerated suspension, and (d) isolating starch from the macerated product from which the farinaceous starch has been separated. Enables the components of the macerated corn grains to be collected separately for utilisation. High yields of corn starch are obtained. the maceration period is decreased the apparatus has a smaller size, and the energy consumption is decreased.</p> |
