<p>An industrial-scale composting assembly in which organic refuse (19) is brought together in a pile (1) that especially has a ventilator (11) and air distribution system (14) with a number of elements (22, 23, 31-54) under the pile. The pile has a tarpaulin cover (15) which is water-repellent, air-porous and incorporates active carbon granules that absorb pollutants and/or smells. The cover has a number of flexible sidewall panels (16, 17, 20, 21) that delimit the sides of the heap. The air distribution pipes can be arranged as required using push-fit connectors. The heap further incorporates water drainage pipes at intervals of 1-6 meters which are installed as the heap grows. Refuse (19) is added progressively to the heap with a bio-substrate concentrate additive promoting decomposition, in a proportion of approximately. 0.07 - 0.15 lit res/ton and diluted in water in a ratio in the range 1:20 to 1:5. The pile maximum height is 3 meters and bears one ton of refuse per 0.6 0m[deg]. The pile has a ventilating pump which is regulated to bring the decomposition temperature to between 60-70[deg]C.</p> |
