This invention relates to a chlorine free, wax free aqueous composition for providing a repulpable water vapor barrier coating for flexible packaging applications. The composition includes a tackifier resin, a polymer and enou gh water to provide dispersions of the tackifier resin and the polymer. It may also include a filler with a plate like structure.
