PURPOSE: A system and a method for displaying a computer screen by using a sub-window are provided to open file contents regardless of the size of the file by partially enlarging the file content by using the sub-window and freely varying the display area of a window depending on the movement of the sub-window. CONSTITUTION: A file operation unit(10) loads a file in a memory(20) or unloads the file from the memory. The memory temporarily stores the file selectively loaded by a user. An I/F(Interface) unit(70) provides an interface with an external pointing device. When the user operates the external pointing device, an internal system recognizes the situation. A motion sensing unit(50) senses the distance and direction of the motion of a pointer and generates a motion vector applied with the degree of enlargement. A display reference information management unit(60) manages the display reference information in the file content stored in the memory. A display control unit(30) selectively displays contents on a sub-window by receiving the size change information of the sub-window from a window size change sensing unit(40).
