Method for processing data in a computer device (1) with a number of peripheral components (10) and a computer program comprising a number of functional components (FB1-FBn) one of which is configured as a configuration component (FBK) while another is configured as a test component (FBP). The configuration component is used with software relevant data and the test component with hardware relevant data for testing purposes. Configuration and test components are designed such that either can activate the other. An independent claim is made for a corresponding computer system.
