The invention relates to an ultrasound transducer comprising a housing (1) that includes a semi-contained volume with a wall and a bottom plate (11) that is configured as a membrane, said membrane being functionally linked with a piezoelectric element (2) that is provided with connecting lines (3). Said volume comprises a damping material (4) and can be fixed to a fixed bearing by means of a support (5). The invention is further characterized in that the support has a support section (51) that projects into the damping material (4) and functionally interacts with the same in such a manner that the entire force required for holding the ultrasound transducer with the housing can be absorbed by the damping material (4).
