The invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used, in particular for wind power stations as a variable gear between a wind wheel and a generator. The inventive planetary disk-type variator comprises a body with a carrier arranged therein. Said carrier is provided with conical intermediate friction disks fixed thereto and connected to external and internal friction disks which are fixed to active and reactive central wheels of the planetary mechanism pressed against the conical intermediate friction disks with the aid of flexible pressure elements .A mechanism for changing a gearing ratio produces a synchronous radial displacement of the intermediate friction disks and is provided with a servo drive having a logical control unit and kinematically connected to the mechanism for changing a gearing ratio. Said mechanism and the servo drive are mounted on the carrier. The logical control unit is embodied in such a way that the mechanism for changing a gearing ratio is controlled with respect to a rotation frequency of at least one rotating shaft of the variator and/ or a position of the axis of the intermediate friction disks when said axis is offset in a radial direction.
