A method of decreasing signs or symptomatology of Parkinson's disease comprising selecting a patient having Parkinson's disease and administering to the patient an effective amount of sildenafil. A composition for decreasing the signs or symptomatology of Parkinson's disease comprising an effective amount of sildenafil and an effective amount of a different agent that decreases signs or symptomatology of Parkinson's disease when administered to patients having Parkinson's disease.
