The lower floor stairs have a longer straight stair run and a shorter turn stair run (1/2) whose walk direction at the exit is opposite the walk direction of the straight stair run. A first floor staircase has a straight run above the first straight run with the walk direction thereof whilst an upper storey staircase has a longer straight stair run above the middle run with the walk direction of the latter and with a shorter stair run whose entrance is at approximately right angles to the walk direction of the longer upper straight run and is turned where space is restricted. A divider piece set along the inner edge of the upper straight run and angled down approximately at ninety degrees reaches from the upper run to the floor of the upper storey so that in the upper storey it separates the maisonette flat from the stairwell.
