A seat for car, comprising a receiving member (14) extending in the lateral direction of a seat cushion (1) disposed inside the front part of the seat cushion (1) and supported by swing arms (10) movably in vertical direction, a torsional spring (16) for movably energizing the receiving member (14) upward, and a pendulum member (18) operated by an inertia force at the time of abrupt deceleration to lock the vertical movement of the receiving member, wherein the receiving member (14) is moved downward when an occupant seats on the seat cushion (1) to prevent a sitting comfortableness from being deteriorated and, when the hip part (22) of the occupant is forced to move forward at the time of abrupt deceleration, and the receiving member (14) is locked to receive the hip part (22) by the receiving member (14), whereby the forward movement of the occupant can be surely suppressed and the weight and cost of the seat cushion (1) can be reduced with a simple structure.
