The sensor has a plastics package which encloses the electronic components (7,8,10) of the sensor. The plastics package consists of multiple parts which are positively sealed against moisture. A sensor plug is provided for connecting a sensor signal line. A sensor base (6) carries the electronic components. An end injection molding may be provided from sealing the sensor base. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing a wheel speed sensor.
