<p>The taker-in on a card is clothed with saw-tooth shaped teeth with a clear height (Z) between tip and the upper side of the base of 1.5 to 2.5 mm, preferably 2 mm. The total height (H) is 2 to 3.5 mm, preferably 2.5 mm and the depth of the tooth undercut 1.1 to 1.7 mm, preferably 1.4 mm. The angle of the leading edge of the tooth is 5 to 24 [deg], preferably 10 [deg]. Two or three taker-in rollers of the same diameter can be employed with successive rollers having increasing leading angle, point density, tooth height, and/or speed. Preferred Features: The base height (F) is 0.5 mm, the tooth base width (B) 2 mm, and the tooth pitch 2.5mm. The rollers are clothed to a point density of 130 ppsi.</p> |
