Particularly, it relates to cancer therapeutic agent comprising thiopeptide and its derivative selected from a group consisting of compounds represented by chemical formula 1 to chemical formula 15, thiostrepton, micrococcin P, nosiheptide, siomycin, sporangiomycin, althiomycin, Promoinducin, Berninamycin, glycothiohexide alpha, Sch40832, GE37468A, GE37468B, GE37468C, GE2270, GE2270 factor C2a, GE2270 factor D2, GE2270 factor E, thiocillins, thiopeptin amythiamicin A, sulfomycin, Thioamycin and MJ3471F4A. Cancer therapeutic agent of the present invention comprising thiopeptide and its derivative show selective cytotoxicity against various kinds of cancer cells, while showing no cytotoxicity against normal cells.
