A system (100) automatically intercepts (300) and responds (200) to most requests (126) for personal information that are received from a network (102) and directed to a user. Such requests are intercepted (304-306), and the sources (104) of the requests (126), as well as the user's identity, are validated (406-408-414). The system (100) attempts (604-606) to complete each request (126), using information obtained from a wallet database (1100) where information is kept secure and is associated with non-personal identifiers ("FirstName", "FirstAddressLine", etc.). The system (100) attempts to complete requests by searching a dictionary database (1000) for request-type-specific rules (1002) that indicate, by non-personal identifiers, what personal information is to be entered into which fields ("Name:", "Address Line 1:", etc.) of each request or form (126). The system (100) may also attempt to complete requests or forms (126) using rules (1002) for other types of requests that are applied (610) to a new type of request using the principles of fuzzy logic or artificial intelligence (226). The system (100) also includes a history database (1200) where previously user-validated requests (126) are kept with personal information replaced with non-personal field identifiers, and it may attempt (702-704) to complete requests (126) by reference to requests in this history database (1200). After a form is completed either by the system (100) with user validation or by the user (418), it may be kept in the history database (1200), and new rules (1002) may be derived either through the use of fuzzy logic or artificial intelligence (610) or through study (824-826-828) of the requests (1202) in the history database (1200). These new rules (1002) may be added to the dictionary database (1000). The fuzzy logic or artificial intelligence system (226) may also be given positive or negative feedback (1314). |
