PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave absorbing coating material having improved durability while keeping the electromagnetic wave absorbing performance especially in GHz region, an electromagnetic wave reflecting coating material, an electromagnetic wave absorbing material and a method for the application of the materials. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic wave absorbing material is composed of an electrically conductive coating object 1 and an electromagnetic wave absorbing coating film 2 formed on the coating object and produced by dispersing iron carbonyl powder in a modified polyester resin consisting of a copolymer of isobutyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate.
